THREE-TIME REGIONAL WINNERS
of
THE BLUES FOUNDATION INTERNATIONAL BLUES CHALLENGE
for
"THE BEST UNSIGNED BLUES BAND IN THE WORLD"
Placing first in the New
York Blues and Jazz Society's regional Blues Challenge
at Tribeca Blues in NYC marks the third time that the band
has been awarded this prestigious honor. The Tonemasters placed first
in the 1997 regional hosted by the Skylands Blues Society. They
also won the 2001 regionals hosted by the Jersey
Shore Jazz and Blues Foundation ... And now they have taken
the honors at the 2002 regionals hosted by the New York Blues and Jazz
Society.
The band also won Round Two of the United
Jersey Blues Society's 2002 regional Blues Challenge,
but forfeited the win upon hearing of their victory in New York. The Tonemasters
win allows the band an opportunity to compete in the annual INTERNATIONAL
BLUES CHALLENGE held in Memphis, TN in January 2003. Recognized
as the nation's best search for undiscovered Blues talent, the Blues
Foundation's International Blues Challenge enters its
19th year in 2003.
